Call to rationality...

So I'm now reading up on "militias" and such.

Here's the thing...

Hatred is not patriotic.  Name calling is childish.  Turning to thinly veiled versions of either only achieves adolescent maturity.  Disagree with the actions of your president.  Don't call him an idiot.  Believe that choices made are unconstitutional, don't spout end-of-the-world claims and accuse the choosers of being unpatriotic.  People who have a different view of the direction our country should go are not inherently unpatriotic.  EVEN when people make a decision that is statically WRONG... they are not necessarily "evil" or trying to threaten the liberties our nation was founded on.  They very likely believe that what they are doing is best.  They are working to see a better tomorrow.  They may be wrong, but they aren't the enemy.  Ignorance is the enemy.  Hatred is the enemy.  I can prepare myself for lethal action against an assailant without hating the assailant.  I need only believe that said assailant means to exterminate me or some non-aggressive bystander in my reach.  Self-defense is not based on hatred... it's based on DEFENSE.  Hatred leads to people making really bad, really illegal, and really stupid decisions.  Hatred provokes more hatred, which in turn provokes more hatred.

Side note:

You've gotten into an argument with someone about some constitutional, religious, or other philosophical thing.  You have trained by experience to cause people to stumble on common misuses of language.  Idk, maybe a cliche or metaphor that "the other side" frequently turns to, and you know how to make it appear semantically illogical.  And you bear this pompous, toothy grin as you deliver your "talking point breaker".  You really are a narrow minded and ignorant person.  Being able to stumble another persons ability to articulate their position is not the same thing as proving them wrong.  You've proved nothing other than you are more skilled at playing debate volleyball.  Go home and open a book by an author you've never heard of on a subject you've never considered.  Frakking learn something.
